Morphett Vale Family Practice has reviewed the changes to the Medicare rebates from the 1st of November 2023.

These changes are welcomed and allow us to continue to provide a "bulk billed" service to DVA card holders, children 15 years and under and most nurse appointments. Other consults will attract fees as outlined in our fee schedule. 

Pensioners and concession card holders will be charged a reduced fee. This change includes telehealth consultations (NB: you must have been seen in the surgery in the preceding 12 months to be eligible for medicare rebate).

Payment is required in full on the day of the appointment. You will receive your rebate automatically. Due to medicare requirements we are unable to accept the “gap” only.

Please see the table with the current fees but be aware that these are an approximate fee and at times these amounts will change.  Depending on your consultation type, there may also be fees applicable to other items not mentioned eg: Mental Health consults, Implanon's, Mirena's, Iron Infusion's, excisions etc.

Non attendance - $30.00

Thank you for assisting us in preventing non- attendance at an appointment. This helps us considerably as we can then avail appointments to patients with urgent needs.

We require at least 3 hours’ notice if you are not able to attend. If no notice is given a fee of $30 will be charged and no further appointments granted until paid.

If you believe there are exceptional circumstances please call the surgery and speak to the office staff.

Script - $20.00

You may be eligible for a script only service (without seeing the doctor) for a cost of $20. This is to be paid prior to collection of script.

This service can be used when you’re unable to get an appointment to see the doctor in a timely manner before your medication runs out. However, the doctor will need to assess and deem it appropriate whether or not you are eligible.

This offer will give you a limited medication supply. You must make an appointment with the doctor at the surgery at this point in time for your next consultation.

Certain medications will not be able to be sought in this manner.

If you are in need of a repeat referral (for an ongoing condition and no significant health changes) you may also use the service at a cost of $20.
