COVID VACCINE UPDATE

Morphett Vale Family Practice are now running Covid Vaccine Clinics for the 1B category patients as of 27th March 2021.

 

Eligibility criteria:

Adults 50 and over  *** updated 5.5.21 ***

Health Care Workers

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people 55 years and older

Younger with an underlying medical condition including those with a disability

Critical and high risk workers including defence, police, fire, emergency services and meat processing

 

We will be able to accommodate the remaining population when phases 2A, 2B and 3 roll out.

FLU VACCINE

 

  We are also running Flu Vaccine Clinics starting from Monday 5th April, please call the surgery to book an appointment.

                                 

PLEASE NOTE: There must be 2 weeks between Covid Vaccine and Flu Vaccine.

COVID-19 PATIENT UPDATE

 

Morphett Vale Family Practice would like to thank all of our patients that have presented at this difficult time.

You have been very patient with all our questions and adapting to the changes we have made at the practice.

We feel it has been a successful transition into these difficult times and we have been able to stay SAFE and remain open to look after you all.

We would also like to reassure you that we are providing a SAFE environment and can look after anyone who has symptoms and those that don't as we have set up a designated area for those with symptoms.

We strongly encourage you to NOT neglect your normal health needs and look forward to helping you in any way we can.

Don't be scared to come and see us, we are doing our very best to provide a SAFE environment.

MEASURES WE HAVE PUT IN PLACE TO KEEP YOU SAFE

  • COVID swab and fever clinics established
  • Telehealth consults; The doctor will call you at your arranged appointment time to consult with you. Any prescriptions or paper work required by you will be available for pick up at the surgery or chemist.
  • Telehealth help us to promote the need for social distancing.
  • Separation of patients: who need to still come to the practice; We have a fever clinic for patients with any symptoms that is being run separately to our patients that have no symptoms.
  • Constant cleaning / disinfecting throughout the day of the practice.
  • Cleaners; Our nightly cleaners have been instructed some weeks ago to add extra duties to their normal regime.
  • Updated information is constantly being received by Doctors and Staff  from various sources to ensure we are up to date with any new criteria and/or protocols that need to be followed.

Please be confident that we are doing our very best to keep you safe whilst still being able to offer you your normal services.

CORONAVIRUS

With lifted restrictions you can now book for telephone or standard appointments for various doctors at the practice.

From time to time there will be restrictions in place and we will be following the advice from SA Heath regarding any isolation protocols.  

 

 

 

Billing Update

As from 1st January 2020, Reductions in Medicare rebates have forced us to change our billing policy.

TELEHEALTH

From 30th March 2020 any one in Australia can have a phone consult with their Doctor.

If you don't  need to physically see the Doctor you have the option to make an appointment for a Telehealth consult.

You can either call the surgery and request this option or use our online facility and book through HotDoc.

Welcome to Morphett Vale Family Practice

Morphett Vale Family Practice was established in 1977 to provide a family based medical practice. We are located approximately 30 minutes from the CBD, close to beaches and wine districts.

Very near is the semi-rural region of rolling hills boasting fine casual dining establishments. Shopping centres, colleges and public schools, both primary and secondary surround the area, catering to quite a few denominations.

Public transport is well established with both train and bus services running regularly.
