Our Nurses

ECG (Heart)

An electrocardiogram (ECG) is a safe, non-invasive test that records the heart’s electrical signals through small electrodes placed on the skin. It helps detect heart rhythm irregularities, signs of coronary artery disease, past heart attacks, and other cardiac issues. ECGs are often requested prior to surgery or when patients experience symptoms such as chest pain or palpitations.

Spirometry (Lung)

Spirometry is a straightforward breathing test that assesses lung function by measuring how much air you inhale, exhale, and how quickly. It plays a key role in diagnosing and monitoring respiratory conditions like asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), and other lung disorders. It is often used to guide treatment plans and evaluate how well medications are working.

Ankle Brachial Index (ABI)

This test compares the blood pressure in your arms and ankles to assess blood flow and detect peripheral artery disease (PAD), a condition that can lead to poor circulation, leg pain, and increased risk of heart disease. ABI is a non-invasive procedure that provides valuable insight into vascular health, particularly for those with diabetes or cardiovascular risk factors.

Immunisations

We offer a comprehensive range of immunisations for all age groups, including childhood vaccines, adult boosters, travel vaccines, and seasonal flu shots. Our nurses are experienced in vaccine administration and follow national immunisation guidelines to ensure safe and effective protection against infectious diseases.

Vaccinations & Medication Injections

This service includes both preventative and therapeutic injections, such as Vitamin B12, hormonal contraceptives like Depo Provera, and certain travel or booster vaccines. These are administered under clinical supervision and may be arranged as part of a treatment plan or on a one-off basis, depending on your needs.

Cervical Screening

Formerly known as the Pap smear, cervical screening is a routine test that detects early signs of cervical cancer by identifying high-risk human papillomavirus (HPV) and abnormal cell changes. Our nurses provide this service in a private, respectful environment, and support patients throughout the process with clear information and follow-up guidance.

Wound Care

Our nursing team provides expert wound care for acute injuries, post-surgical wounds, ulcers, and chronic conditions. Services include thorough cleaning, dressing application or changes, infection monitoring, and advice on home care to aid healing and reduce the risk of complications.

INR Testing

This is a quick and simple finger-prick blood test used to measure how long it takes your blood to clot, particularly for patients on anticoagulants such as warfarin. Regular INR monitoring helps manage dosage to reduce the risk of both clotting and bleeding, and our nurses can coordinate with your GP for timely adjustments.

Iron Infusions

For patients with iron deficiency that cannot be managed through diet or oral supplements, iron infusions provide a fast and effective alternative. The iron is administered intravenously over a short period, and the procedure is performed by our trained nurses under a doctor's supervision. A referral is required before booking.

Venesection (Doctor Assisted)

Venesection is the therapeutic removal of blood, typically used in conditions like haemochromatosis or polycythaemia to manage iron levels or reduce blood thickness. This procedure is carried out by a nurse with doctor oversight, ensuring patient safety and proper monitoring during and after the treatment.

Ear Syringe

This service involves the gentle irrigation of the ear canal using warm water to safely remove excess earwax that may cause hearing loss, discomfort, or blockage. It is a safe and effective method for patients who are experiencing wax build-up and is usually recommended after an initial assessment.

Aboriginal Health Checks

Our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health checks are tailored to support the unique cultural and healthcare needs of Indigenous patients. These comprehensive assessments aim to detect chronic conditions early, promote preventative care, and connect patients with appropriate services and supports. They are fully bulk billed for eligible patients.
